A really great cover letter is always aimed directly at the person to whom you are submitting your resumé. Seeing as this is my website, I can't necessarily personalize this page to everyone who may read it.
What I can do, is express myself openly and represent myself honestly. Of course I will champion myself and my work and maybe even brag a little, but isn't that what a resumé is for?
I used to struggle with how to define myself. Folks are very used to describing themselves by what they do for work, by how they earn money. I never liked that, personally. I am more than the sum of my jobs.
For that reason, I was pleased to find the term: multipotentialite. I feel like that describes me to a tee. I have many different passions and interests, and I have pursued them all with equal levels of vigor and energy.
I am a designer, illustrator, cartoonist, animator, linguist, musician, brain-stormer, fixer and professional maker-betterer. I am a tinkerer, a rabid learner, a perfecter, a student and teacher as much as a mentor and mentee.
I believe strongly in the potential of people and the importance of art and design. I can excel on my own or improve any collaboration I enter into. I'm an excellent communicator because I know how to listen, really hear, understand and if needed, interpret.
I have my feet firmly in the seemingly opposite worlds of art and science. I have created data-driven animations as well as dance-inspired automations. Science is art is science in my world.
I am a one-man machine of productivity. I can conceive a project, script it, design it, create all the assets both visual and aural, animate it, code it, break it, fix it, test it, deploy it and support it, all by myself.
I am by no means a lone wolf however. I thrive in any cooperative environment. I give criticism well and constructively and I take criticism even better. I strive always to improve the project. I have little to no ego when it comes to collaboration, and can always keep my eye on the bigger, broader picture.
Below is the work I have done professionally. It doesn't include my own passion projects, which can be found here. Those include my game company, Polakię Games, my videos, my music and my illustrations. They're not what I would call "jobs," but they are my work and they represent me well.
As for the rest, I am proud of it all. I've learned so much from every job I've ever held, and I look forward to learning more as I continue to hopefully realize my potential!
